Water-Based Acrylic Spray Lacquer
for Fine Woodworking Applications
(1000 Series)
We are proud to introduce to our line of professional finishing products a polishing system that makes our waterborne wood finish shine- Menzerna Polishes.
After 2 years of thorough testing and evaluation, we have chosen Menzerna of Germany to be the select buffing and polishing materials for use as the final stage of the Oxford Finishing Process. Because a perfect, "off the gun" gloss is very difficult to achieve, these compounds and polishes help create and maintain the clarity and depth-of-image of our waterborne formulas. As a rule machine buffing and polishing is essential for obtaining the high-end gloss often required on custom and production pieces.
Starting with the DD3 Prepolishing Compound applied with a felt pad or disc, the DD3 is designed to remove coarse sanding scratches and surface imperfections such as sags, runs and surface contamination. Less aggressive scratches such as 1200 grit paper marks on our polyurethane can be removed with the 2L Paste. Then, moving up to the 16 Polishing Paste to pop the first-stage gloss, the 16 will remove 2000 grit wet/dry scratches and lapping film images on our lacquers and varnishes. The final step is a machine glazing/polishing step with the PO91E Liquid Polish for the final high-gloss/wet-look. All of these products can be lubricated with a small amount of water to help reduce burning and prolong the life of the compound.
