JANUARY 2001 From Jeff Weiss, Director

Patience

Preparing our new web site and running a small manufacturing business at the same time should put me in the running for "New Inmate of the Year" at our local loony bin. My business partner Joe is ready to commit me right about now. What he doesn't know is that I have reserved a double occupancy room, and he's the invited guest!

Seriously, folks, it's been a bit over 30 days since we introduced the new look of our website, and I couldn't be happier. Zak, our web designer, will be delighted if I ever catch up on the required data for the budding e-commerce site, but patience produces a good client-customer relationship. Also, it's great to see Joe sit so patiently, as he watches me spend money. Kara, our office manager, navigates through her daily operations with great calm- I couldn't ask for a better anchor.

Patience is a necessary human function, like breathing. This is why I ask you to be patient while you try our water-based finishes for the first time. Water-based systems just don't behave the same way your conventional solvent-based coatings do. They flow-out and dry differently then what you might first expect, so take it easy and learn how our products work. What first might seem like a complete disaster will flow into a beautiful finish. Take the time and make a few sample panels for fine-tuning your spray or brushing technique to learn how waterborne coatings work. Once you get the hang of it, you won't lose any time in production. Odds are good that you will actually become MORE productive, and you won't be killing as many brain cells as you once did after a day of spraying poisonous solvents.

Thank you for your continued support. And patience!

Sincerely,

Jeff Weiss
Director
