WINTER 2002 From Jeff Weiss, Director
It has been six months since I have written an editorial for our web site. Some of you might be wondering if I have gone stale, or if I am just plain lazy. Well, I can say with great confidence that neither of these human conditions have overcome my senses. The truth is, you have all kept my team and me very busy this year, and I cannot thank you enough.
During these months I have traveled the United States, Canada and the UK and have seen a growing number of customers working with Target finishes on an enormous array of projects, ranging from furniture restoration to production line yacht assembly. The diversity of final products which are protected with Target finishes is staggering. I have watched the finest woodworkers, finishers and engineers produce everything from hunting rifles, custom guitars, bedroom furniture and Senators' desks, with excellent results in terms of final finish. I have been privileged to teach fine craftsman how to work with Target products. Each encounter with my customers has brought me new insight and understanding about how our products work and how to improve upon an already unique line of finishes.
Target Coatings has many new products ready for launch. You have heard about our water-based shellac sealer, hybrid linseed oil andarchitectural grade brushing varnish. These products are waiting in the wings and will be unveiled shortly. They bring great promise to the world of fine finishing. I also have learned how our existing line of finishes both succeed and fail in daily applications. Therefore, it is my responsibility not to just provide more diversity to the water-based coatings arena, but to fine tune and improve upon what already exists.
The next six months will continue to bring all of us new challenges. One certainty is that we at Target Coatings will continue to provide the best we have to offer so that our customers can remain confident in our products.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Jeff Weiss
