What is the reccomended CapSpray tip size for spraying em6000 and em2000? I have a Capspray 9100 turbine and a couple of the Maxum II guns, and have been using a #3 tip. I know 1.3mm is reccomended, but I don't know how that corresponds to Spray Tech's tip numbering scheme.

I have been getting slightly inconsistent results spraying em6000 on cabinet doors and want to ensure I am set up properly.

#3 works fine. I sometimes go up to the #5 for HSF5100 since the filler is so heavy-bodied. On this site there's a video suggesting you use the next size aircap, but the #5 aircap with the #3 tip shoves too much air and reduces the fan pattern to a much smaller size. Possibly useful if I wanted a small round fan but otherwise not helpful, so I stick with the #3 tip and the matching #3 aircap. BTW I use the Wagner/Capspray 2900 4 stage HVLP turbine and NB gun.

Your Capspray 2900 seems to be a completely different product line than the 9100. Are the tip sizes still the same? The SprayTech site is short on technical information.

Same gun. You're good to go.

I like GleemPaint for supplies for this gun- get yourself a bag of the check valves because they're easier to replace than to keep clean, and they also have the needle/nozzle/aircap sets (much cheaper than the Sherwin Williams store wants for them). Good source for technical info and parts as well.
