I need a dark chocolate/mocha color on maple and a suggested finish for an entertainment center. Please tell me what grit to sand to, dye mix ratio, and if I need a sealer between the dye / finish. I have used the 9500 and 6528 products in the past.

Jim,
Without having a visual to go by based on your color descriptive, I recommend one of our pre-blended WR4000 Stains, i.e Dark Mission Oak or our American Walnut. You can also use the WR4000 Clear Base and mix your own colors using TransTint Dyes and Mixol Pigments.

As for a finishing schedule, make a storyboard that features a option of a pre-stain sealer (EM1000) to control blotching. Use a 50% reduction of the EM1000, sand back with 320-grit, then apply your stain. Check for color strength/value. Once you have your color dialed in you can then move on to sealer/toner coats and then to the final top coats. I recommend our EM6000 for entertainment centers and general case goods.
